version française documentation forum gcstar - home register login gcstar is a free open source application for managing your collections. detailed information on each item can be automatically retrieved from the internet and you can store additional data, such as the location or who you've lent it to. you may also search and filter your collection by many criteria. gcstar is delivered under the terms of the gnu general public license it can be used on any operating systems on which gtk2-perl is available. it has primarily been tested on gnu/linux systems (used to develop it) but also on microsoft windows . current version | (top) | current version is 1.7.1 . a mailing list lets you know when new versions are published. you may subscribe to it on the gcstar-release mailing list information page . gcstar 1.7.1 manages these collections: movies video games books music numismatic wines board games comic books tv shows episodes stamps periodicals mini vehicles smart cards tv shows (series) computer software user defined collections this version is also fully or partly translated in these languages: arabic, bulgarian, catalan, chinese (simplified), chinese (traditional), czech, dutch, english, french, galician, german, greek, hungarian, indonesian, italian, polish, portuguese, romanian, russian, serbian, spanish, swedish, turkish, ukrainian. there is some documentation for translators that explains how new languages could be added or existing ones, completed. news | (top) | 13 march 2016 : registration to the forum open i made a few changes to the forum, and i'm going to experiment them. so the registration is again possible. i'll see how it goes in the next few days to decide if that's viable or not. if you need to contact me, i'd still suggest to use my email address instead as i will check it more regularly than the forum, at least for the moment. 0 comment about "registration to the forum open" 09 march 2016 : version 1.7.1 released here are the main changes contained in this version. when generating statistics, they can be grouped per dates. export to gcstar viewer generates a collection that loads faster in image mode (requires gcstar viewer 2.10 or above) display totals for numeric fields when the list is displayed in detailed mode. updated languages: catalan, czech, german, greek, swedish. bugs fixed in the application and in the plugins to fetch information from websites. you can also read the full changelog for 1.7.1 . 22 comments about "version 1.7.1 released" 29 february 2016 : back in business (but i need your help too) hello everyone, after a long period of really low activity, i'm trying to do my best to spend again some time on gcstar. a lot of personal and professional stuff happened in the meantime that kept me busy. i still don't have as much time as i used to be, but at least i'll focus on saving some of this time for this software that i never forgot about. first, i'll go through all the messages i received and to which ones i didn't reply. it may take some time and i ask you to accept my apologies for this delay. don't hesitate to send me again an email you may have sent to me and that has been left with no replies. i think that in 1 or 2 weeks, i should be done with the catch-up of emails, but i can't promise i won't miss a message (or even that i may have deleted it by mistake). so that's the first thing i may need from you, some gentle reminders that you sent me a message. then, i need to think of what to do with the forums. at some point, it became unmanageable and i was just spending time fighting spam instead of reading actual messages. i won't have time to take care of that. so i see 2 options here: -
